An aging workforce, an
aging population, market forces, health services reform, and numerous other
factors mean
constant changes in the requirements for health human resources. These
changes can only be addressed through
logical planning and forecasting.
The
Newfoundland and Labrador Workforce Planning Unit (originally called the
Newfoundland and Labrador Health Human Resource Planning Unit) was established in 1999
to build a
solid base of data and research upon which projections and key human resource
policy decisions could be made. The Workforce Planning Unit represents a partnership
agreement between the Provincial Government's Department of Health and Community
Services and the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Boards Association. The
purpose of this website is to disseminate key reports, support specific
projects, and maintain staff contact information.
The
Workforce Planning Unit relies on several stakeholder groups for information, and wishes to acknowledge
