The Labrador-Grenfell Regional Integrated Health Authority is seeking the services of a Psychiatrist for Happy Valley/Goose Bay, NL.
The Psychiatry service involves in-patient and ambulatory care at the Labrador Health Center and visits to the Captain William Jackman Memorial Hospital. There is a multi-disciplinary health team that works with the psychiatrist.
The Health Labrador Corporation services a large geographic area from two health care facilities and multiple community clinics for a population of about 28,000. The Labrador Health Center in Happy Valley is accredited and has 30 beds. It serves both the local community and ten smaller communities with a large native (Innu, Meti and Inuit) population and a total catchment population of about 15,000. All the coastal communities have nursing stations staffed by regional nurses/nurse practitioners.
