Staffing Complement:  1 District Health Coordinator,  5 Regional Nurse, 1 Registered Nurse, 1 Public Health Nurse, 1 Community Mental Health Nurse, 1 Home Care Nurse, 1 Personal Care Attendant, 1 Laboratory/X-ray Technician, 2 District Medical Officer (resident – in community), 1 Dentist, 1 Dental Assistant, 1 Social Worker, 1 Personal Care Attendant, 1 Licensed Practical Nurse – Pharmacy, 4 Licensed Practical Nurses.

GRHS operates a 11,025 square foot health centre in Forteau with a staffing complement of 36.3 (includes long-term care and all support staff).  The centre, built in 1981, has five in-patient beds, one crib, plus an attached long-term care facility with eight beds, one of which is used for respite/palliative care. 

Area residents can access a variety of services through this centre including:

·   Emergency services

·   Ambulatory Care/Family Medicine

·   Dental Services

·   Community mental health nursing services

·   Child Youth and Family Services (includes childcare, both centre based and family child care, adoptions, youth corrections, child intervention services, family and rehabilitation services)

·   Diagnostic services (limited laboratory and x-ray)

Residents can also access regional services via referral from a member of the local team.
