Grand Falls-Windsor

The town of Grand Falls-Windsor has a population of approximately 15,000. The cost of living is relatively low, with municipal taxes and utilities reasonably priced. Housing costs are affordable, with a split-entry bungalow selling for anywhere from $130,000 to $160,000. There are employment opportunities in many different sectors, including health care, business and finance, sales and service, education, trades, government service and industry, as well as the growing IT sector.
The town, as well as the province, boasts a very low crime rate, good air and water quality and spectacular scenery. Hunting and fishing lodges are located in the central area (in close proximity to the town) and salmon fishing on the Exploits River is a favorite activity of many local residents. The Corduroy Brook walking trail is also a very popular outdoor attraction in the town for local residents. The town is also home to two stadiums, ideal for both competitive and recreational ice hockey and figure skating. Tennis courts, baseball & soccer fields and a nine-hole golf course are also accessible within the town limits. Finally, the town also has many indoor sports facilities including the YMCA (gymnasium, weight room, squash courts and swimming pool), billiards rooms, bowling alley and curling club.
