Eastern Health is seeking a General Practitioner for the Placentia Health Centre in Placentia, NL. The Placentia Health Centre in Placentia has a 10-bed acute care hospital. Routine laboratory and radiology testing, as well as EKG services are available on site. Mobile ultrasound is available for specific tests. Allied health services, including speech language pathology, social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy services, and clinical nutrition services are shared with other sites. The Centre has established a continuing care program for delivery of home care at the community level in conjunction with Community Health Services. The Board also operates a 75-bed nursing home as part of the health centre. The home provides Level II and III nursing care to its residents as well as a respite program, and medical coverage is provided by the centre. There are four physicians currently on staff at the centre providing a full range of general practice, emergency obstetrics. Placentia Health Centre is affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland, enabling the hospital to create a close liaison with the faculty of the School of Medicine.

Physicians must be eligible for full or provisional licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.
