The Western Regional Integrated Health Authority
is seeking a General Practitioner to fill an immediate fee for service
General Practice vacancy in Port aux Basques,
Newfoundland
on a permanent full-time basis.
The successful incumbent will operate an independent
fee for service clinic in the community, be responsible for in
patient and out patient coverage, and provide a regular rotation of
after hours on call to the area with the other General Practitioners at
the site.
Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on
Newfoundland
’s southwest coast is a modern, 44-bed
District
Hospital
. Port aux Basques is the
home of the Marine Atlantic Gulf Ferry Service and is known as the
Gateway to the Province. With
a population of 5,700, the town’s modern facilities provide the best
in business, mercantile, education and recreational service to its
residents. The Hospital
itself provides services to a catchment population of approximately
13,000. The Dr. Charles
LeGrow Health Centre is a site of the Primary Health Care Enhancement
Program. This initiative has
established the Health Centre as a site for initiating strategies to
strengthen the delivery of primary health care services to the people of
Port aux Basques and surrounding communities.

, and satisfy credentialing requirements of the Western Regional
Integrated Health Authority.
